Indonesia

Over 17,000 islands of ancient temples, active volcanoes, pristine beaches and untamed jungle - Indonesia is the perfect combination of luxury, adventure and raw natural beauty.

Spanning over 17,000 islands across the world's largest archipelago, Indonesia is a place of extraordinary contrasts. From the bohemian charm of Bali and the ancient temples of Java to the untamed jungles of Borneo and the remote beaches of Sumba, this is a country that rewards every kind of traveller.

Bali remains the beating heart of Indonesian travel - laid-back, health-conscious and effortlessly beautiful. Explore the cultural hub of Ubud, explore the hidden coffee plantations of Munduk, surf the world-renowned breaks of Uluwatu, or simply get lost among the jungle-clad yoga studios and rice paddy fields that make this island so magnetic. But Indonesia stretches far beyond Bali.

In Java, discover the awe-inspiring temples of Borobudur and Prambanan, hike the volcanic landscapes of Mount Bromo at dawn, and experience the vibrant energy of Yogyakarta. Head east to Komodo for pink sand beaches and encounters with the legendary Komodo dragons. Venture to Sumba, where rolling hills, deserted coastlines and ancient traditions remain untouched by mass tourism. In Sumatra, trek through the rainforests of Bukit Lawang in search of wild orangutans, or explore the vast volcanic caldera of Lake Toba. And in Borneo, journey deep into some of the oldest rainforest on earth - home to orangutans, pygmy elephants and indigenous Dayak communities.

Whether you're island-hopping through the turquoise waters of the Gili Islands, diving the coral reefs of Raja Ampat, chasing waves off Lombok, or watching the sun set over a volcanic crater in East Java - Indonesia has a way of making every day feel like a different country entirely.

Fact Sheet

When to Travel

The best time to visit Indonesia is generally during the summers months. As such, we recommend visiting between April and October as there is little rain and a lot of sun. With that said, Bali is stunning pretty much all year round destination so i wish to avoid the crowds or you’re budget conscious, we would advice travelling during the ‘low season’.

Visa

At the time of writing, most nationalities do not require a visa to visit Indonesia for 30 days or less. Upon arrival, immigration will date stamp in your passport on your arrival day. However, please note that you will not be able to extend your stay with this free tourist visa so you cannot overstay your welcome.

Due to the current uncertainties, we highly recommend contacting your consulate and / or embassy as the regulations can and do charge between nationalities, and without warning. For the most up to date information on visa requirements, please visit (for UK citizens): https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/indonesia

To gain entry into Indonesia you will need your return air ticket, your passport with at least 6 months validation left to go and your visa if indeed you require one.

Health

Some vaccinations may be required depending on where you are going, when and what you’re doing. Therefore, it is important to check with your GP before travelling. Your GP will be able to provide you with all up to date travel information.

Travel insurance is mandatory for all our trips so please ensure you show evidence of your policy before travelling. We recommend that you carry a First Aid kit and hand sanitisers / antibacterial wipes as well as any personal medical requirements.
