Tour Itinerary

Raising money for “Bread and Water for Africa”, you will work with the “Lewa Children’s Home” (in Kenya) to develop long term solutions to malnutrition by helping their community become more self-sufficient.

The “Lewa Children’s Home” houses orphans and vulnerable children, providing them with food, shelter, medical care, first-class education and a loving family environment. Thanks to an integrated model which includes a farm and a school, Lewa is a thriving model of self-sustainability. From the most heart-wrenching beginnings, children at Lewa are nurtured to become happy, healthy, responsible and independent members of society.

What’s more, using food grown at Bakara Farm, they are now able to sell it produce on the market to generate a steady income. Thanks to the Baraka farm, which provides food and income for the children, Lewa has become a model of self-sustainable development, inspiring many in the region.

Here, you will help care for the children on a day-to-day basis, teach English classes and work on the farms to help produce products to sell on the market. You will also learn about how indigenous foods can be a steady source of nutrients if grown correctly and will have a direct impact in improving the standard of hygiene.

Once the above project is complete, we will send you to Lake Victoria, where you will work alongside members of SmallFishFood project. Here you will be shown how new technology and methods of fish production can help save thousands of lives. You will also learn about how unsafe and unhygienic the old methods once were, and how the new methods (thanks to the SmallFishFood project) of drying, storing and exporting fish, can reduce malnutrition all over the continent.

This is a fantastic project that is in the process of saving thousands upon thousands of lives!
