Nuwara Eliya, is an ancient Sri Lankan market town nestled at the bottom of a bowl-shaped valley beneath Pidurutalagala Mountain, Sri Lanka's loftiest peak.
Nuwara Eliya, commonly known as Little England, is a rural town in Sri Lanka's Central Province dating back to the mid-nineteenth century and was where British tea planters would meet to socialize, relax, and enjoy more weather-related country activities such as deer hunting, golfing, polo, and cricket. For those wanting to explore the region, sights such as Hakgala Botanical Gardens and the Sita Ella Hindu Kovil, sit on the towns outskirts.
Additionally this is Sri Lanka's garden city. On terraces and in tiny home gardens, neatly organised vegetable plots are producing leeks, carrots, beans, and cabbages that will be consumed across the island. The island's major milk-producing zone is also located here.

If requested, the GoKo Carbon Offsetting scheme does not focus on just planting trees, but rather the purchasing, persevering and protecting standing forests from deforestation and degradation - helping revive forests back to full health and avoiding the release of stored carbon. This also enables the regeneration of degraded habitats, which gradually re-absorb atmospheric CO2.
