Thailand

Boasting stunning beaches, jungle-clad national parks, mountain top villages, award-winning street food, golden temples and world-class diving, Thailand is one of the most popular holiday destinations in the world!

Thailand; the land of a thousand smiles. Thailand is by far one of the most popular holiday destinations in the world. Boasting stunning beaches, jungle-clad national parks, mountain top villages, award-winning street food, golden temples and world-class diving, Thailand is one of those countries you will never want to leave.

Full of activities and adventure, Thailand literally has something for everyone. If you find yourself in Bangkok, explore the endless night markets, try the local street food and wander through the business districts and skyscanners that will leave you in awe. If pearl white beaches are more your thing, travel to the Southern Islands and feast your eyes on some of the world's most beautiful beaches and unbeatable nightlife. Spend your days scubber-diving with whale sharks or soak up the sun and visit the famous limestone engulfed island of "Maya Bay".

Moving north to Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai or Pai, you will discover ancient temples engulfed by mountains and ruins, protected elephant sanctuaries, natural hot-springs and waterfalls, as well as some of the friendliest locals on the planet.

Luckily for you, Thailand lends itself to adventure holidays for the favourable year-round climate. The best adventures in Thailand are typically based around the coast for sailing, kayaking, swimming or in the hills for trekking, camping, wildlife, cycling and tuk-tuking.

Fact Sheet

When To Travel

Luckily, Thailand offers favourable weather all year round. However, it is important to know that the north and south offer quite different climates.

The north is cooler than the south and is much less humid. As you can expect, January and February are quite cool, with the weather warming up in March and April. From May through to August the weather is hot and humid, therefore, expect to experience a tropical shower at least once per day.

During September and October the rain can be heavier and less pleasant. Throughout the country, September - October is low season (meaning everything is cheaper) but despite its "bad press", the weather can be surprisingly beautiful.

The end of the year gets cooler and is maybe the best time to enjoy our tuk-tuk adventure, as the rain has reduced and the heat has eased off. In short, we suggest visiting Thailand between November-April.

Visa

If you have a UK or US passport, then you do not (at the time of writing) require a Visa to enter Thailand (up to 30 days if arriving by air or up to 15 days if arriving by land). This is known as a visa exemption. You may need to show your return ticket upon arrival and / or complete a landing card.

If you’re staying longer than 30 days then you’ll need to apply for a visa before travelling. If you overstay you may be fined or detained, so check the date twice! Please note that a visa extension can be obtained in Thailand at any immigration office for approx. 2000THB.

We recommend checking the latest country entry requirements with your national foreign travel office, for UK citizens this is the Foreign Travel Advice section of https://www.gov.uk (https://www.gov.uk )

Health

Some vaccinations may be required depending on where you are going and what you’re doing. Therefore, it is important to check with your GP before travelling. Your GP will be able to provide you with all up to date travel information.

Travel insurance is mandatory for all our trips so please ensure you show evidence of your policy before travelling. We recommend that you carry a First Aid kit and hand sanitisers / antibacterial wipes as well as any personal medical requirements.
