Starting and finishing in Marrakech, this Moroccan adventure will simply blow your mind.

Over the next 14-days, you will fully immerse yourself in Moroccan culture and tick off some of the most sought-after 'must-dos' in the country.

From breathtaking mountain ranges, sweeping Saharan deserts, rugged coastlines and ancient cities, this bucket-list adventure is like no other.

You will begin this trip with a city tour that will see you snake through the great labyrinths of theatre and spice markets in the enchanting capital of Marrakech, before heading to the great Atlas Mountains where you will embark on a summit climb to the top of Mount Toubkal.

Waving goodbye to your mountain guides (and Berber communities), you will complete the second half of this adventure by racing horses along the rugged coastlines of Essaouira (situated on Morocco’s Atlantic coast), enjoy a camel safari across the majestic deserts of the Sahara, and dive deep into the Moroccan traditions and culture with a visit to Ait Benhaddou!

Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival into Marrakech:

Welcome to Morocco!

Upon arrival, you will be introduced to our GoKo representative, before heading directly to your hotel for your first night.

Your adventure begins with a welcome meeting at 6 pm. Once complete, we will head out for our first dinner in a gastronomic Moroccan restaurant.

Day 2

Marrakech Walking Tour:

Rising nice and early, we begin our first day in Marrakech with a stunning walking tour of the Red City’s famous medina.

Experience the excitement and energy of the street performers at Marrakech’s Djemaa el Fna square and listen to the legendary storytellers who will enchant you with tales of the past!

In the evening, we will enjoy a delicious dinner at the restaurant Cafe clock in la medina.

Day 3

Atlas Mountains - Azaden valley

The real adventure begins!

After breakfast, we will transfer you to Imi Oughlad - the starting point of the Trek. After meeting your guides and team, we will start the trek towards Azzaden valley; which will see us cross the Tizi n'Tachte pass (2000m above sea level) and then trek down to Id Issa village.

After a short rest, we will continue our journey along this marvellous & colourful valley until we finally reach Tizi Oussem village, buried deep within the mountains. Here we will spend the first night!

Day 4

Atlas Mountains - Azib N Tzikert

Today we will be walking uphill through beautiful forests toward the Tizi n'Tzikert Pass. From here you will get wonderful views over Azzaden Valley and witness the rainbow of colours that reflect off the mountain ranges!

Tonight we will be camping in Tizi n'Tzikert

Day 5

Atlas Mountains - Toubkal Base Camp

Today we gradually ascend the Toubkal valley, via the pilgrimage hamlet of Sidi Chamharouch.

Today we are rewarded with great views over stunning gorges & beautiful springs. Finally, we will reach the Toubkal base camp where we will spend the night!

Day 6

Atlas Mountains - Toubkal Summit

Today is the big day!! Time to summit the great Toubkal!

At 4,167m high, Mount Toubkal, also known as Jebel Toubkal, is North Africa's highest peak. Set in the High Atlas Mountain range in Morocco, this iconic mountain presents a challenging yet rewarding trek that will undoubtedly clench your thirst for adventure.

Once we have celebrated our success and taken some summit photos, we will head back down to Armed to spend the night.

Today is a BIG day, so prepare to dig deep!!

Day 7

Essaouira:

Today we will wake up nice and early and descend down to Imlil, before travelling to Essaouira - a stunning coastal city where the medina brushes up against the Atlantic Ocean.

Sandstone walkways contrast with whitewashed houses, bright blue skies light up the seas, and the pearl sands of the surrounding beaches and dunes will make you fall in love with this charming little city!

You will have the afternoon to yourself, so rest up and enjoy the city. Only breakfast will be included today - so enjoy the surrounding area yourself and pick exactly where you want to eat!

Day 8

Essaouira - Horse riding on sandy beaches:

Giddy-up! Today really is a day to remember.

Heading towards the ranch that is situated on the beach front, we will visit the stunning sands of Diabat. Here you will be given the incredible opportunity to gallop across the deserted sands (for experienced riders only) and feel the wind in your hair! Ultimate freedom! For beginners or first-timers, we will have a nice trot along the seafront and visit the forest of eucalyptus and mimosas.

After 2hrs, we will jump off and enjoy lunch by the ocean. Once again, the afternoon is yours for the taking. Explore as you please!

Day 9

Taroudant:

Today we travel to the market town of Oulad.

Here we will take to the souqs of Taroudant and haggle with local traders for silver jewellery or colourful Moroccan ceramics and mosaics.

Day 10

Erg Chigaga - A Camel Safari:

It's time to feel the power of the Sahara desert between your toes!!

Today we will pass Zagora, before arriving at the frontier town of M'Hamid. From here, we will take a short but epic camel ride through the stunning red sands, jump into our 4x4 vehicles and drive to the massive Erg Chigaga dunes.

Arriving in the late afternoon, we will walk into heaven on earth! Situated between golden sand dunes and swaying palm trees, we will spend the night under the stars.

Tonight we have our very own wild desert camp like you see in the Movies!

Day 11

Zagora:

After a night under the starry skies, we will be driven to Zagora; a small oasis town on the Sahara fringe.

This is perfect for an overnight stop, and will allow you the opportunity to take endless strolls through the palm groves, explore the Ksars and wander around the surrounding countryside before bed!

Day 12

Ait benhaddou:

Today we will drive to Ait Benhaddou!

Ait Benhaddou is one of Morocco's most iconic sites, and once an important stop for caravans who passed through its walls carrying salt across the Sahara, to return with gold, ivory, and slaves. The town has a long list of film and TV credits, including Lawrence of Arabia, Game of Thrones, and Gladiator.

Enjoy a leader-led walk through the winding streets of the Old Town, making your way to the top of the hill, from where you can enjoy the views across the surrounding plains.

Your evening is free, with the option of partaking in a local cooking demonstration and meal of Morocco's most famous dishes: couscous and tagine.

Day 13

Marrakech:

Today you will drive for around 4 hours through the winding roads of the Atlas, bound for the ancient and exotic city of Marrakech!

There's no rush as the scenery through the High Atlas Mountain passes is magnificent, and there will surely be calls for several photo stops along the way.

Upon arrival in Marrakech, we will check into our hotel and head out for our final farewell super and a cold beer!

Day 14

Departure:

There are no activities planned for the final day and you are able to depart the accommodation at any time.

Visa:

If you’re a UK, US or EU citizen you do not need a visa to visit Morocco for up to 90 days. We recommend all others to check with their local embassy.

When entering the country, make sure your passport is stamped. Some tourists have experienced difficulties leaving the country because their passport bears no entry stamp.
